Sustainable land use

HortResearch has developed expertise in the areas of:

• Management alternatives for land treatment and dairy farm effluent
• Herbicide and pesticide application systems for least environmental harm and appropriate soil type
• Improved water allocation and irrigation requirements for crops including olives, citrus, wine grapes, kiwifruit and pasture land

We engage in research proposals with regional councils, environmental consultants and commercial companies and collaborate with other providers to promote sustainable land use initiatives.
