Funded projects

Farmers and landowners often work closely with regional councils, research organisations and consultants to achieve environmental and economic sustainability.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) is a key supporter of these collaborative projects through its Sustainable Farming Fund.

Poplar and willow usage is one such project which is being funded for three years mainly by MAF's Sustainable Farming Fund, with additional funding support from Hawke's Bay Regional Council, Massey University, and Meat and Wool New Zealand.

The project team comprises farmers and regional council land managers in the lower North and South Islands, with technical support from Massey University, Crown Research Institutes, and consultants.
